The Hotel du Palais in Biarritz, a historic spa hotel

Are you looking for a destination where you can disconnect for a weekend or more? Biarritz and its fine sandy beaches, its old port, its surf spots and its festive atmosphere is the perfect destination!

Our team has selected for you two hotels and spa by the sea, for a stay under the sign of relaxation and authenticity: The Regina Biarritz Hotel & Spa and the Hotel du Palais Biarritz

The Biarritz Palace Hotel: a history linked to Empress Eugenie’s passion for the city of Biarritz.

Favorite vacation spot of the imperial couple under the Second Empire and today a surfer’s paradise, Biarritz attracted the European gotha for a long time. Napoleon III and his wife Eugenie stayed there every summer.

Then the residence of Empress Eugenie was transformed into hotel in 1882. Then ravaged by fire in 1903, the building was completely rebuilt. Its E-shaped plan pays tribute to the empress and her passion for the seaside city.

Today, the mythical Palais de Biarritz is turning a page in its history. Passed in 2018 under the Hyatt banner, the only palace on the Atlantic coast has been completely renovated with the greatest respect for the Second Empire architecture. This renovation is accompanied by the implementation of a sustainable development policy. The hotel with spa in Biarritz now works with local producers and makes the environment a priority.

The rooms of the Hotel du Palais: sea view!

The 86 rooms and 56 suites have been tastefully renovated. Period furnishings remain ubiquitous, wonderfully maintained by the team of art artisans embedded in the hotel. Art lovers will be pleased; history and art are everywhere.

If you are looking for a romantic place, the Hotel du Palais will meet all your expectations. Napoleon III gave this mansion to Eugenie as a token of their love at their wedding. Today, lovers gather here for a weekend by the sea, and enjoy the facilities of the hotel overlooking the Atlantic.

Fine dining experiences with the ocean as a backdrop.

Did you know that the Hotel du Palais has one of the most beautiful dining rooms in the world? With an exceptional 180° view of the ocean, the gourmet restaurant “La Rotonde” will give you a unique experience. Chef Aurélien Largeau honors seasonal local and seafood products. As for the cellar, it houses more than 1000 references . The advice of head sommelier Alexandre Pons will allow you to discover many local wines.

More animated, the Lounge is alive all day long, and is extended by the Terrace. Overlooking the Palace gardens and the Grande Plage, this is where we like to have lunch in the sun. And one cannot resist the sin of gluttony when tasting the pastries of Pastry Chef Aleksandre Oliver.

Only open during the summer months, the Sunset is set up by the pool. The ideal address to enjoy the sun and the view of the Grand Beach. Then you will dive into the magnificent Californian pool heated to 28°.

Our favorite? the bar Napoleon III. With its midnight blue walls and ceiling and its majestic chandelier weighing more than 400 kilos, this intimate bar takes on the codes of the Second Empire. In a hushed and warm atmosphere, you will discover the cocktails elaborated by Chef Barman Jérémy Lauilhé and his team.

The Imperial Spa, an exceptional haven of peace in Biarritz

Spread over five floors, with an area of 3000m2, the Spa Impérial is certainly one of the most beautiful spas in France.

The Hôtel du Palais has always collaborated with the Maison Guerlain. Indeed, Pierre-François Pascal Guerlain created the famous Eau Impériale with orange blossom for the empress in 1853. The bottle of this Eau Impériale is studded with 69 bees (symbol of the Empire). This same bee can be found on the carpet of the main staircase and in many areas of the hotel.

Enjoy nine treatment rooms, a swimming pool, a hammam and a sauna! You can also enjoy the new Guerlain face and body treatments. Your hair is not forgotten, the Leonor Greyl Institute and its hair experts will provide you with ultra-targeted treatments.

This summer, head to the ephemeral spa facing the ocean, where you can get a massage while being lulled by the sound of the waves.

On the top floor of the spa, you’ll find a fitness center fully equipped with the latest Technogym equipment.

Of course, fans of yoga, Pilates, boxing, Toyboard, Gyrotonic and QiGong are not forgotten, with instructors on hand.

A stay at this legendary palace, whose renovation has respected its history while bringing in much-needed modernity, is the promise of an unforgettable weekend in Biarritz.
