Strolling through the big cities can also be a great way to get around. We advise you to discover cities like Auxerre, Beaunes, Besançon, Dijon, Montbéliard, Belfort or Mâcon.
Then, if you are sporty, the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region offers you about 18,000 kilometers of marked hiking trails. There is also no shortage of ski areas. In total, the region has 26 of them. You can ski in Métabief in the Doubs, in La Pesse in the Jura or in La Planche des Belles Filles in Haute-Saône.

We recommend you to visit the Wine Museum in Beaune, the Maison des Climats, the Hospices de Beaune, the Hameau Duboeuf in Romanèche-Thorins or the Château le Clos de Vougeot. Then, to observe breathtaking landscapes with vineyards as far as the eye can see, follow one of the seven wine roads. Choose between the Yonne vineyards road, the Crémant road, the Grands Crus road, the Grands Vins road, the Mâconnais-Beaujolais road, the Coteaux de Pouilly-Sancerre road and the Jura wines road. Otherwise, we advise you to discover one of the labelled vineyards such as the Jura vineyard, the Mâconnais vineyard or the Auxerrois, Chablisien or Tonnerrois vineyards. You will enjoy famous wines like Chably, Côte de Nuits, Vin de Paille, Macvin, or Pinot Noir for example.
This territory abounds in museums of all kinds. You will find them in all the departments of the region.
